FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is your honey raw?

Yes — our honey is raw.

That means it is never pasteurized and never ultra-filtered. Most grocery store honey is heated to high temperatures (often 140°F or more) to slow crystallization and extend shelf life. The downside? Excessive heat can reduce naturally occurring enzymes like invertase and diastase, along with trace nutrients and antioxidants.

We gently strain our honey to remove wax and large debris, but we leave the natural pollen, enzymes, and flavor intact.

Raw honey = real honey.
Just filtered enough to pour — not stripped of what makes it alive.

2. Is your honey local?

Yes — harvested right here in East Texas.

Our bees forage within a 2–3 mile radius of their hive, gathering nectar from seasonal Piney Woods blooms like clover, wildflowers, tallow trees, and native flowering plants around the Lake Sam Rayburn area.

Because nectar sources change with the season, the flavor and color of our honey can naturally vary throughout the year. That variation isn’t inconsistency — it’s authenticity. It reflects the land, the weather, and what’s blooming at that moment.

It’s not blended from multiple states.
It’s not imported.
It’s East Texas in a jar.

3. Why does honey crystallize?

Crystallization is natural and actually a sign of raw honey. It hasn’t gone bad.
To return it to liquid form, place the jar in warm (not boiling) water and stir gently. For the love of sweet baby Jesus DO NOT put your honey in the MICROWAVE!

4. Do you add anything to your honey?

Never.
No sugar.
No syrups.
No additives.
No shortcuts.

5. What flowers do your bees use?

Our bees forage seasonal East Texas blooms like clover, wildflowers, tallow, and native tree blossoms. The flavor can vary slightly by season — that’s the beauty of real honey.

6. How should I store my honey?

Store it at room temperature with the lid sealed tight.
Do not refrigerate — that speeds up crystallization.

7. Does honey expire?

Pure raw honey does not spoil when stored properly. It may crystallize or darken over time, but it remains safe to eat.

8. Is your honey safe for children?

Honey should not be given to children under 1 year old. For everyone else, it’s safe and delicious.

9. Do you Ship?

Yes. We ship securely packaged jars across the United States. Each order is handled with care so your honey arrives just like it left our hands.
